Reveals real corruption you don't expect

In getting into this book I was amazed what the author reveled about the Bush and family and other government officials whom we have trusted in the past. I now have lost any respect I have ever had for the Bush family. I did not realize that during the Iran-contra situation that Bush and the CIA were engaged in selling weapons to Iran, our enemy and also dealing in large amounts of drugs that they were responsible for putting on the streets and ruining the lives of those who bought them. Will I ever trust any government again. It is doubtful. Looking at our situation with President Obama and Hillary Clinton and how they have gotten away with crimes we the people would have been convicted of and thrown in prison I doubt any one at the higher levels of national politics being honest with the citizens.

Reading this now. It's what I expected, some material new to me, lots of detail. Some page notes, no index.

I believe no president leaves the White House unscathed by scandal, but GHW Bush probably deserved more attention to what was hidden during his four years.

The author's biography is printed in the front of the book. I'm satisfied with his credentials.

A significant part of the larger mosaic of corruption.

This is a valuable book for those who want a glimpse of the darker side of government. Though the author focuses on former President George H. W. Bush and his ingenuity in furthering his interests while maintaining a façade of oblivion and good intentions, the reader is ultimately exposed to a larger context where arms dealers, intelligence agents, and high-ranking officials mingle along ill-defined lines. Don't misunderstand; this is not a conspiracy book with random assertions. More accurately, it's a taste of the machinations that are hidden from the ordinary citizen. Interests, of course, don't always coincide, but this is not the point. The lack of ethics conveyed in this book is alarming and sadly deplorable. In this regard, however, Bush seems like the rule rather than the exception. He along with so many others have efficiently played their games before the nation's eyes, often hiding behind the convenient blanket of "national security."
At times, the author's narrative contains notable gaps and scanty development, particularly in the early entries, but the later arguments--especially those dealing with Iran-Contra--are better supported. One of his best chapters is on the "October Surprise," for it is thoroughly documented with reputable sources. One wishes he would have been as consistent in all chapters, but if readers are clever enough, they can find corroboration in other books. A bibliography is not provided, but the footnotes are useful for verification purposes.
Overall, it's a directly written exposé that should at the very least enrage us, and though the research might occasionally suffer from redundancy and murky conclusions, its central thesis remains painfully substantiated.

Not worth the dead tree's

I am a student using this book (student edition that is not available on amazon yet). There is no explanation of the Spanish language. It's like brute force practice without any understanding of the deeper structure of the language. Throwing wet spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks would be a good analogy. Apparently you're supposed to just "learn" the language through saying phrases to each other, whatever. I'd have been better off buying a tourists phrase book. Worse off is the $2400 tuition and 22 weeks of my life I will have to waste on this to graduate from the Art Institute of Colorado.

This book provides an outstanding presentation of Silicon processing technology that is technically current, rich in detail, and most importantly, factually correct. The new edition of this book appears to have been completely rewritten, and covers every important area of Silicon processing in a comprehensive manner. I especially enjoyed that fact that in each chapter of the book the basic principles underlying a technology are explained first, and these explanations are then integrated into descriptions of the relevant technology (i.e. PVD, CVD, CMP etc.).
The two Lithography sections are beautifully done, and contain lucid explanations of concepts that I have not seen anywhere else.

Silicon Processing for the VLSI Era

This book provides an outstanding presentation of Silicon processing technology that is technically current, rich in detail, and most importantly, factually correct. The new edition of this book appears to have been completely rewritten, and covers every important area of Silicon processing in a comprehensive manner. I especially enjoyed that fact that in each chapter of the book the basic principles underlying a technology are explained first, and these explanations are then integrated into descriptions of the relevant technology (i.e. PVD, CVD, CMP etc.).
The two Lithography sections are beautifully done, and contain lucid explanations of concepts that I have not seen anywhere else.
For anyone who is seriously interested in semiconductor manufacturing, this book is a "must have". No other volume even comes close to being this comprehensive.

THE best set of technical references in this area

In my 25 years of semiconductor process development I have never come across such a complete and in-depth collection of device and process knowledge in a single place. Years ago we needed to spend many hours with the journals to extract the requisite information to supplement our laboratory efforts. These volumes synthesize the basics with the most modern techniques now employed in advanced technologies. In addition, many subtle processing difficulties are addressed as well which will be much appreciated by the researcher. Through the years I have purchased in excess of 100 text references and none comes as close to these in the total knowledge contained within. These volumes are intended for the researchers and engineers working in this field yet they are so very well written and easy to comprehend that any one with such an interest in this field can understand them. Study these volumes completely.
